My daughter having a friend over for birthday t party. the friend cannot eat dairy products what can i give...

What can i give the friend to eat when the rest of them will be eating pizza and sandwiches and chocolate( which is also a no no) and cakes with cream which is a no no???????aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

Answers: There are lots of milk free products at the store - she can probably have cookies. Buy or make her a special cookie of her own - there is some fantastic soy and rice based ice cream now too - you can find it in the regular store or healthfood store. I'm sure there are pizzas made with cheese from rice or soy too.
Call her mom and ask - maybe she'll send something along? Ring the friends Mom and get EXACTLY what she can eat. Better be safe than sorrry!! Sainsyburys do a 'Free From' range which caters for that. You can get pizza bases etc. ask the childs mum to be sure ring up the girls mum - she will be happy to know that you are at least trying

i have a friend that cannot eat gluten and does not like meat - we asked her parents and they gave us a few ideas to expand on

you can get special dairy free stuff in super markets

try not to make her feel to left out though - the food tastes the same so why not give everyone similar stuff or make labels saying dairy free, includes nuts, vegetarian e.c.t

then at least people know without having to be embarrased about asking

hope the party goes well

xxx I would make a really colorful jello dish with fruit. You can get really creative with jello. I know it is old fashion but it can be fun for kids. Make different layers and colors. Use grapes, melons and other fruits to make it more colorful. You can use the fruit to make eyes, nose, mouth and then all the kids will want it. Her jello will be so much fun that she won't think about ice cream. Get soya products and make your own pizza, cake, etc. Mcdonald, chinese food, sandwiches with out cheese. you could get buffolo wings for her, apitizers with out cheese and milk. Maybe for dessert have some cookies and pies and not just the one cake. Give them bread and water. JK. Fruits and veggies. I would call the mother and let her know that you want to make sure that you're prepared for her child to come over for the party and find out what specifically she can eat and enjoys eating. I'm sure she will be very receptive, and some mothers I know that have children with severe allergies actually bring food along to make it easier on the host(ess). Also see if she has suggestions for treats you can offer her child so she doesn't feel excluded when the other kids are having cake and ice cream.

You might think about some chicken (breaded or unbreaded), fries or mashed potatoes, apples or another type of fruit, jello for a treat. Good luck! Call and ask her mom the food she replaces for her daughter instead of cake and Ice cream. We gave my daughters sherbet or popsicles instead of ice cream. They had cheeseless pizza. The mom will be the best person to contact. You can get or make cheesless pizza. It's just like an ordinary one but you spread tomato puree on to the blank base (get it from your supermarket) and then spread slices of sausage, pineaplle chunks etc. You'll have to heat it up in the oven. While you're cooking your pizza shove in some mini saussage rolls too, they'll go down well.

Offer her soya milk instead of cow's milk ( I like it). It's possible that she can actually drink goats milk.
Check with her parents to be sure.

Sandwiches can be spread with Olivio so there's no dairy stuff involved there. Fill them with corned beef or sliced ham or salad stuff. You can get dairy-free mayonaise.

Cakes don't have to have cream or any dairy product involvement. Get some of those small scotch egg things.

Try and make sure that you serve the same to everybody so that she doesn't feel 'different'. You can offer pizza cheese as a separate bowl of grated cheddar or parmisan for the kiddies to sprinkle on if they want. If you want to be safe tell her to bring her own grub you can make Iranian kabab it's too good for this if you don't about Iranian kabab ask me to help you Call the mother and see if the friend can have some dairy if he/she takes a dairy digestion aid product.

Most lactose-intolerant people need a digestion aid and then they are good to eat a little dairy.

Pizza is fine if you pull off the cheese. Mustard on the sandwich bread instead of butter? Get her a cupcake at the bakery with a non-dairy icing. Phone her mum and ask her what she would like to eat. That way you are putting the ball in the mum's court and you can be blamed for nothing. How about burgers or hotdogs, fries, chicken nuggets, fish fingers and maybe jelly for dessert?
