Answers: You didn't specify what you need a plastic bag for so here are some suggestions:

For shopping- paper bags
cloth totes
empty boxes (usually used at low cost Grocery stores instead of them spending money to provide platic bags)

For home use- saran wrap
wax paper
alum foil
disposable containers Source(s):
home resourcefulness ummmm. ...paper bag paper bag?? sisal baskets made from natural fibre order one form me godschild900@yahoo.com Depends on what you want to use it for? If it's for shopping or carrying things about, get one of those long-life bags that can be re-used from Wilko/Iceland/pretty much anywhere nowadays. Cloth bags are best - reusable , rewashable ! Well I guess that depends on why u are using the plastic bag. Probably a cotton or paper bag... bio-degradable plastic bags.....they do make them. Any small objects will usually work. But as you can see in the link, the plastic bags work great.
