Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party/ Presents TIPS/IDEAS Help?!

Question: Okay so my son is turning 16 on the 1st of November. I want to do something with him and the family and maybe a few friends.

I am going to get him a used ford f150 because that is what he wants.

What are some other gifts that I can get him?

And what are some like party ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I know some people are going to say I shouldn't get him a truck but that is my decision not yours, he deserves, I have the money to get it, so none of those comments
Fyi:
He wants to be a police officer
Is getting his drivers license as soon as he is 16
He is a good kid
3.6 GPA
Plays Football

Hmm . To me a car seems like a big enough gift in itself. Maybe some gas money to go along with it? =D

Party ideas... Ask him. Thats what my parents always do. They let me decide what I want for birthday meals, breakfast lunch etc. It's always fun.

Also, maybe you want to do a family night for the birthday? And then let him plan a party with his friends that weekend or something? That way they can go and goof off but you still get to celebrate with him on his actual birthday. Just a thought.
ipod, new cellphone
A wii those rock
gas money is the obvious answer. if this truck is used then what does it need? he is going to want to personalize it, or fix it up. tires wheels stereo paint seat covers etc anything to do with his new ride. since he plans to be an officer and he's getting his license why not make the party traffic control themed. speed limits stop signs stuff like that. you could also do a pinata with one of those police sticks. my other suggestion would be time with you. in a card maybe you can give him an i.o.u. good for help with automotive work. then you could fix up the truck together. hope this helps give you a start to some thoughts. p.s. can you be my dad?
