I just threw a party for my daughter's 18th. Finger food is the key. Let everyone do their own thing when they get hungry. That way you or your parents aren't slaving over the stove. Do all the prep the day prior. I chose a beach theme. I served sangria. Not too much alchohol but everyone enjoyed it

have good party food, something where a guest won't have to stop what their doing to eat a meal. you know?
something where they can just grab it and go, preferably bite size stuff. IT'S ALWAYS BETTER THAN NORMAL SIZE! =]]
