Answers: What do you have for a traditional dinner?

prime rib with au juis and horseradish cream
twice baked stuffed potatoes
creamed corn casserole
cucumbers and onions in cream
banana ans chocolate cream pies

ham

im in Australia so its usually 30+ degrees c (HOT)
weve had traditional baked meals in the past but have now given up!
seafood barbecues are now our favorite, but we do love the traditional ham. summer fruits are in season then and cold pudding and custard

We usually have ham, mashed potatoes, biscuits, veggies (always varies), and banana pudding.

Depends on which family--my dad's is ham and my mom's is prime rib if we're at her sister's house and turkey if we're at her brother's. In any case, we always have a potato, two or three veggies, rolls, and at least two desserts. Once in awhile we even have soup.

Our christmas dinner consists of the following.
1) Chicken Rice soup
2) Roasted Duck
3) Roasted Chicken
4) Huge Potato dumplings
5) Saurkraut
6) Stuffing
7) Gravy

It's the best

My hubby is the chef, he likes to make beef, a nice big roasted joint of beef with all the trimmings.

it has to be a goose if you want to be really traditional

We have Prime Rib, cauliflower and potato mash, shrimp cocktail and eat like its going out of style!

Cajun Fried turkey (2-3)
Oyster dressing
Artichoke stuffing
Sweet potato casserole
Green Bean casserole
Mashed potatoes & gravy
Cauliflower and cheese sauce
salad

For dessert:
Home made brownies
Cheese cake
Chocolate decadence cake with coconut
Peanut butter fudge

We generally have 30 people or more so we have lots of cooking and great fun!!!!!

Usually we go to my mom's house for dinner and she has ham. But last year I cooked because my mom was not here for Christmas, so I made a standing rib roast, which was probably the best meal I've ever made. I got the recipe on a card from our local grocery store. The roast is expensive, but I got it on sale for $5.99 a pound, when it is normally $9.99 a pound. I made twice baked potatoes with it and those were yummy too. Then I just made several other sides like cresent rolls, my southern green beans and several desserts. What do you have?

We are Mexican so we don't do the ham or turkey dinner. We make a variety of Mexican dishes such as ; tamales, posole or menudo. We also make Mexican pastries such as ;empanadas, bunuelos or flan. The best part of it all is that all our generations come together to cook and talk and just have a great time together.

Here in Barbados our ususal Christmas lunch includes

Pigeon peas and rice
Roast Turkey
Cranberry Sauce
Jug-jug
Baked Ham
Macaroni Pie
Baked Pork
Toss salad
Potato Salad
Coleslaw
Sorrel Juice
Great cake (fruit cake) and lost more things I can't remember off hand

I always prep for Christmas eve, but this year, with all the inlaws passing, all the extended family is on their own, so I have to plan. BUT, for Christmas eve, it is always fish.....clam chowder, catfish, salmon, usually a pierogi casserole. Boiled eggs (deviled) and a simple dessert as this is a 'fast' meal with no 'meat' until after midnight, which we wait up to see if the animals talk.
