at that age I think most are starting their Diva stages.. so it could be like a Princess Party or Diva-Night.

They can dress as princesses- with tiara's and the bling or like the Bratz dolls more Diva-licious.

Try not to load them up with sugar and do large fruit tray with cool whip or cream cheese based dip ( or even a large bowl of flavored yogurt as the dip) Diva's have to watch their figure ya know!

cheese and craackers- mini sandwhiches- they'll look at as grown up food and you'll appreciate it not being junk food. Don't get tooooo veggie on them or they'll turn on you!!

Games- best Diva walk or Princess Wave
Beauty Queen Speech- "If I were president I would want..... and world peace!!! :D (Miss Congenialty- which would also be good movie for the night)
Best Rock Star Princess Air Guitar Performance
ya know stuff like that- hey just want to be silly all night and work on their Diva in training techniques!!

Have fun and don't forget your Tylenol!!

My advice: wear earplugs!

truth or dare
some other games like that!!!

ummm . . how about some girly movies . . 13 going on 30 . . freaky friday . .things like that . . games, well, truth or dare, twister, things like that, keep it fun . . snacks, popcorn and soda are a must, candy, things like that . . take a trip down the local snack aisle . . just pick out things that you would have done when you were that age

hmm i cant really remember fifth grade,
but some good movies could be
Sleepover
She's the Man (its up to you, kinda old for them)

maybe they like to sing?
you could have american idol contests, i still like doing that LOL
in 5th grade i started to like DDR

my friends and i loved dancing, you could do something like that

One great preteen movie is "The Princess Diaries." It's a Disney movie (with actual people instead of cartoons) that has teenage themes that are of interest to 10-year-olds, but is rated G and therefore very clean.

Snacks that fifth grades love: Munchkins, donuts, cupcakes, chips (fritos, doritos, cheese doodles), jello, pudding, etc.

Activities: Dancing, pin the tail on the donkey, makeovers, arts and crafts, etc.

I love your idea of a "Girls Night Out" themed slumber party. Other suggestions - take a group picture & have the girls decorate their own frames, make your own jewelry (beads & elastic string), any type of easy craft.

As for snacks: punch, juice, popcorn, chips, pizza bites, make your own ice cream sundaes, decorate your own cookies

Movies: The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Over the Hedge, Mean Girls, Bring It On

Games if you're outside - dodgeball, kickball, etc.
Inside - Heads up Seven Up, pass the hoola hoop without using your hands, tie a donut hole to a string & try to eat with your hands behind your back, etc.

Good Luck!

Make some empanadas, little patties. Also make theme feel extra special, make play momosas with plastic champain glass. 1/2 orange juice and 1/2 orange selter water. For games, how about a treseare hunt, dress up, or play in make-up. Movies, dance movies, cheetah girls.

a stipper ... wait 5th graders! hmmm... a 5th grade stirpper

I know, I absolutely hate it, but the last fifth grade party I dropped kidlet off for (hey, she's 'grown' now - sixth grade), all they squeeeeeeeeeeeled over was "High School Musical"...with all the marketing being over the top for this, I would suggest DVDs of both HSM and HSM2 and 'theme' it accordingly as you can buy ANYTHING with HSM on it.
