When each person enters, clip a laundry pin or a paper clip or something onto their clothing. Tell them they are not allowed to say a certain word. You pick the word, for instance, your bosses name if you don't want anyone talking shop at the party. Instruct them that if anyone else catches them using the forbidden word, they can take away their laundry pin. The person who has collected the most pins at the end of the night wins a prize.

This is what you call a passive game. People can play it and still go about the party doing what they like to do, instead of being corraled and herded like a bunch of kindergartner's, which I kind of resent when I am at parties.

You can also play that game where people get the name of a a famous person taped to their back. They have to guess who they are by asking questions to everybody else. That's another passive game I like.

Spin the bottle or hide and go seek!!

ramen noodles, mmmmmmm

BINGO

How about 35 a side football game?

easy............snooker or bolling

Here is a good game:

Get 10 quarters and number them "1" to "10." Hide the quarters in your party venue, and tell your co-workers to look for the quarters, but only allowed to keep ONE. The people who find these quarters will use them to "purchase" any one of 10 pre-wrapped gifts that you purchased at a novelty store or wherever you can get nice gifts for cheap. Then, all of the guests will form a large circle, with the gift holders interspersed in the circle.

Now that you have everybody in a circle, here is the fun part: You read the poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas," and anytime the word "AND" is said, the gifts are passed to the person on the gift holder's right! The word "AND" appears several times in the poem, so this makes for a VERY fun game! Whomever holds the gift on the last "AND" gets to keep the gift!

I have done this game several times, and also another game where you make up a story using the words "LEFT" and "RIGHT," and people pass the gifts to the left or right of them, accordingly. People really seem to have a lot of fun with this game; I highly recommend it!

Wife Swap

I'm thinking of lotsa booze. After that, they will kinda entertain themselves or feel entertained irregardless... haha.

Christmas party... you could ask everyone to bring a present worth the same amount and then you could have a gift exchange.

Are you exchanging gifts? if so you could try to do a Chinese pollyanna- where each person brings a gift. (with such a large group this would be easier, normall you pick #'s out of a hat) Have a table for the gifts, have everyone walk around and pick out a present. They open it. Then there will be another go round. The first person who started can go around and pick what they want, they steal it from the other person. Then it continues. This is a great game that will take about an hour if not more.

bingo, card games.

swing;
swap
cross dressing on spot

Do a 'left' - 'right' game.

Have each person bring a silly little gift (under $5). Make up a story of some kind that has the words left and right in them. Read the story aloud and every time you say left or right that is the direction everyone in the room has to pass the gift they brought. When the story comes to an end, everyone opens their gift to see what they got.

Example: Johnny went to the store, to get there he had to turn right at the first corner, right at the 2nd corner and left at the third corner. He was going after bread when he walked in the store he had to turn right inside the doors then left into the aisle.... keep on going.

Good luck and have fun with your party!

Bridge, 500, Euchre, (card games)

Also there is some game where one person gives clues to another person about a word or phrase under the pressure of a timer. 2 people form a team. Whichever team is not currently giving clues and guessing wins.

Christmas caroling? etc

You could 'theme' it Christmas around the world and have little snippets of different cultures displayed as food items, decorations, etc. You could also give them a 'score card' with questions on it about different customs around the world, and whether or not they celebrate the holiday as in America (some Eastern European countries celebrate Orthodox Christmas). Encourage them to discuss it among themselves (gets them to mingle) and since the appetizers are part of the quiz (you've feed them too) and at the end of the evening, do a running tally of the answers, with prizes for the most correct, least correct, most bizarre, etc. with everyone leaving with a little more knowledge about other cultures, a smile on their face and little present to boot. Have seen this work in the past. Any questions, email me.
