What do you want from a really good coffee shop (day/evening events wise??ie open mic, poetry night...)?!

Question: Im going for a job and I want to know what people would like to see happen! Like having open mic, or a resident singer. Poetry/spoken word nights things like that. Any help would be soooooooooper!!

Like someone else said, somewhere that might be kid friendly. Even a small corner or section. A place where kids are not tripping into and bumping into other customers and servers. Our local Starbucks has a few beanbag chairs and a few books for kids.

Commission a local artist to display his/her artwork

Perhaps events to promote:
Maybe once a month offer a Senior Citizen Morning-half price or specials coffee & danish for a set price-some of these old timers are on a fixed income and could never afford a morning out at a coffee shop.

Once a month- Mom's Club-

Once a Month- Teen Night-Trust me, while the owners may frown upon a bunch of teens hanging around, this age group 12-18 are HUGE consumers and spend A LOT of money! Of course the owner may need to modify the menu for the younger kids. It makes me cringe when I see parents order heavily caffiened beverages for their kids. (Mine gets chocolate milk, but he likes calling it his coffee)

Good luck on your job interview!

A coffee shop which isn't full of smug twats in scarves would be a great start. I think I'm asking for too much though.

resident singer would be perfext, i always like live performances, it's casual and so romantic at once. poetry and coffee? i don't think so.

Actually I would really like somewhere that has a fab "grown up" coffee shop with great coffee and nice surroundings, but also a soft indoor play area for kids, preferably sound-proofed to some extent. Why is it, I wonder, that you can never get a really decent coffee at any indoor play centres, and the tables and chairs in the adult area are primary coloured plastic, usually tatty and nasty.

I think that it would be nice to have the open mic night..once or twice out of the week.

Good coffee, tables are clean (i wish!) and may be some quiet music in the background. I use coffee shop to met with my friends and catch up on all news so I will run if place has lots of drums in it. And most of all: KIDS FRIENDLY! I am usually have couple of them with me

Just really GOOD coffee will suit me, it's very difficult to find a place that serves it, but to answer your question, It is so much more enjoyable to drink it in lovely surroundings with relaxing music playing in the background

open mic, cats
