I am looking for a hall to rent for my son's 1st birthday party. My budget is about max $500 for rent.?!

And I thought Chuckee Cheese was crazy for a 1 year old's birthday party!! But a HALL??
Most 1 year parties that I have been to or have seen (including my own and my son's) consists of the child in their high chair with their own special little cake and them diving into it face and hands first... getting cake and icing all over their face and hands. And all stuck in their hair and on their brand new outfit. And the parents capturing the whole catastrophe on video, so that years later all can look back and laugh at how fun and "simple" a time that it was.
Save the $500 hall for his 16th party or 21st or Graduation. If you do this on his 1ST BIRTHDAY, you will have to do something more every year there after!! He will expect this every year... and possibly be very spoiled right off the bat, and you don't want this.
I'd just take it down a few notches!

Invite a few relatives and close friends over to your house, spend about $50-$100 and put the other $400 away for his "Rainy Day Fund". Who's this party for, anyway?

Why would you rent a hall for a 1 year old...and spend $500 to do it.
Stay home and save the $500 for the kids college fund.

I agree- DOWNSIZE your party and put the extra you have away in an account to give him later. He'll appreciate it more to know every birthday you put money away for him in the account instead of blowing it on a hall and a one day party.
If your family is coming to honor the new child- they can do so in a smaller setting..even a restaurant's large party room. Have them all contribute into your son's future.
First, with the date so close, I highly doubt you would even find a half decent place. I recommend saving the cash and having an intimate party at your house. It's much more fun and less stress for you!
