Does anyone have any ideas for banquet favors?!

Question: I am organizing a banquet for work and need ideas for favors and door prizes. Does anyone have any good ideas? There will be both females & males at this banquet and it will be all adults.

For people in the medicle field... hmm... That's a tricky one. For cheap or inexpensive favors go to orientaltrading.com I think you should go with something from the medical field. Like a few nice pens, note pads, maybe a stethascope instead of a bow to tie the favors up. Make it colorful, fun, and stuff that is useful. Maybe something that they don't see every day. For one of ourbanquets our people set little colorful piggy banks on each table. Most had a penny in them but a few had a dollor and one even had a hundred dollar bill. They didn't tell us until the end of the banquet what was up with the piggy banks and it was really fun and cool. GIve away medical journals or up and coming books from the field as door prizes. Even just something as simple as a gift certificate for a door prize. Good luck and have fun!

What kind of banquet? Is it Chinese, Indian, Italian, American...? Is it a fundraiser, political, wedding, holiday, religious....? More details would help for choosing the favors.

Let's see...candles, wine stoppers, movie tickets, $ 5 Gift Cards for area gas stations or markets, key chains, candies....hmmmm???

I feel that having the following will be good for a banquet,

chicken, prepared may fried or oven, etc.

roast beef with mashed potatoes

a type of pasta dish

vegetables, with a light dressing

you can get fancy looking sets of ballpoint pens, sometimes even at the dollar store, you can give makeup for the ladies, batteries, adn little keychains also

just purchase things you know you would like to receive. gift certificates are always nice, gas cards, movie passes, premade gift baskets with snacks or bath stuff. maybe some tickets to a good play for a bigger prize. liquor, candles, magazine subscription, books on different things. just go around a store and you'll find stuff. for favors you could do different types of tea or coffee and a nice mug with some cinnamon sticks or one of those choc covered cookie sticks things (I forget what they're called!) wrap those up in some clear wrapping with a bow at each place setting.
