you can do all of this stuff with pretty basic supplies: frosting, food color, a little candy. they're really fun.
its also really fun to cut milano cookies in half, dip them in icing that has been thinned a little, and decorate them like little tombstones. frost the cupcakes green on top like grass, if you're REALLY into it you can shake a sandwich bag full of coconut with green food coloring, and you'll have more realistic grass.
use a cinnamon crumbly topping or chocolate with gummy worms on top
well, youu can get chocolate cupacakes, and decorate them.
first put chocolate frosting over the cupcakes, and then dip the cupacakes into choclate "dirt". the frosting will help it stick. then take a graham cookie and design it, for exapmple. write "BOO" on it. it'll make a great treat :D ?
At walmart I seen some halloween decorations ofr cupcakes in the halloween section. The had sparkles and something to stick in the cupcake like a bakery.

Great ideas for all kinds of spooky snacks, including specially decorated cupcakes!
you can go to the dollar store and get some spider rings and stick them on there, maybe decoate the cupcakes with a frosting tool to look like a web, or something with cotton candy to be web-like?
I just had a halloween bday party for my 7 yr old this past weekend. I made 50 cupcakes and every one got eaten. I did one batch choc one batch vanilla. I took store bougth choc icing and tinted it black and vanilla and tinted it orange. Then I frosted them all. I varied what color went on what cupcake. For decor I used different sprinkles that I bought for 5.99 at walmart. the container has 6 different types, orange, black and purple colored sugar sprinkles, the big confettie ones, the little balls and then the jimmies with pumkins. The kids absolutely loved the cupcakes. I did a cake walk and the winner got to pick his favorite. We had 15 guests and all of the cupcakes were gone! They were super cute, super easy and if you wanted you could let the kids decorate.
Make marshmallow ghosts from the big marshmallows and place a small dab of dark frosting for the eyes and mouth or cut small slits into the marshmallow and insert a chocolate chip into the slit for the eyes and mouth cover the top of the cupcake with orange or purple frosting and place your marshmallow on top of the frosting.
