I need to feed a large group of girls 11- 17 and I already have pizza down the first day- I need another idea?!

Question: Salad bars are my favorite-- salad, croutons, cheese, chopped veggies, dressings, bacon bits, etc. and then since they ate healthy then can have a dessert bar.

If at all possible, maybe they can each bring a dessert to share?!

Do they like corn dogs? You could do the real thing, or....

Corn Dog Casserole

2 cups thinly sliced celery
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 ? cups sliced green onion

1 ? pounds hot dogs/Polish or Smoked Sausage

2 eggs
1 ? cups milk
2 teaspoons rubbed sage
? teaspoon pepper

2 packages (8 ? ounce each) corn bread/muffin mix
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (divided)

Sauté celery in butter for 5 minutes, add onions, sauté 5 min. more. Remove to a large bowl.

Cut hot dogs into quarters lengthwise, then into half inch pieces. Sauté them 5 minutes in same skillet until browned. Add to vegetables. Set 1 cup of this mixture aside.

In another large bowl, mix the eggs, milk, sage and pepper. Add the larger portion of the hot dog/ vegetable mixture and mix well.

Add the packages of corn bread/muffin mix and mix very well. Add 1? cups of the cheese and mix well. Spread into a 9 x 13 casserole dish, sprayed with Pam. Top with reserved hot dog mixture and remaining ? cup cheese.

Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Test for doneness with a toothpick inserted into center. If wet batter sticks to toothpick bake another 5 minutes until done.

take them to a buffet they got everything they might want

Try chicken, tacos, burgers, P.B. & J sandwiches, ham, turcky, chineese, itlaian, mexicn. There are a lot of things that girls like and these are only a few. I hope this advice helps!

Make a huge pot of chili, after all it is almost Halloween!

To create a balanced, healthy meal, have some sliced veggies along with some dips (hummus, salsa...), some finger foods, like cherry tomatoes, mixed nuts, cheese and crackers. As for drinks, water, seltzer water with a splash of fresh juice, and for dessert, a fruit salad or sorbet!

Nachos!
Frito Pie
Pancake supper
Burgers.

OOH! Lime spodi -- they'll love you forever.
A large container (seconds won't be enough) full of limeade, with some large chunks of raspberry, orange, or rainbow sherbet added in.

Food-wise (for a large group), I like to make big, flat pans of banana bread (or other sweet-type bread), as opposed to baking in standard bread pans. The squares hold together better than slices and travel well. A recipe that includes about 4 cups of flour needs a 12x15 inch pan.

Bagel chips and a somewhat non-junky dip work well for me, since portioning isn't an issue.

I also love to get sandwich ingredients and let the gang just have at it, since there is such a variety of preferences. With that, I usually cut up canteloupe into chunks, along with apples, oranges, grapes, etc.

You didn't mention if you're looking for meals over a period of days, or several meals for a single day.

Favorite baked chicken (insanely easy):
Cut up a chicken. Season with Johnny's season salt (both sides) and lay the pieces skin-side down on a broiler pan.
Bake at 400 to 425 degrees Fahrenheit for half an hour, and then TURN and bake for another half hour.
I have never met a chicken-eater who did not like this!

Spaghetti Bolognese (quick & easy to make in large quantities, healthy, and tasty for all ages);

Chilli con Carne (just like the Bolognese - easy, healthy), maybe with Baked Potatoes instead of rice as a variation;

Lasagne (easy to make in large quantities if you have dishes large enough - again healthy, and once you whack it in the oven you can relax until its ready);

Fajitas (they can have some fun rolling their own, and all you have to so is quickly stir fry some diced/sliced chicken with seasoning, and chop some salad veg, buy pre-grated cheese and salsa);

Baked potatoes (if you did the Chilli with rice) with whatever choice of fillings they like...Baked beans, Grated Cheese, Tuna Mayo, Coronation Chicken, etc. (you can even buy pre-made but fresh sandwich fillers for ease).

Soup - you can make that in large quantities. Pasta is easy as well if you buy prepared sauce at the grocery market.

What about tacos? You can set out the meat, tortillas, cheese, and other toppings and let the girls build their own. Another idea would be a big pot of spaghetti and meatballs.
