Well you can make a themed one like Italian & have all Italian appetizers, or Chinese, or Mexican. Same for the drinks Italian you can have wine, chinese-saki, and mexican-margaritas & sangrias. Find some great themes. decorate you're house with that theme. Get some great party music. And maybe make an outside quit area maybe for smoking or just taking a break.
And get food you think the whole party will enjoy, not just something you like.
