Dinner help??!
Answers: Does anyone know when you go to a nice dinner what hand do you hold the fork and the knife. And if you put a napkin on you lap of is that old fashion and anything else you know about fancy dinners
Yes, the napkin goes on your lap yet. When cutting meat or other foods it is proper to use the fork in the left had and knife in the right or switched if you are left handed. Only cut what you will place in your mouth at one time. When eating a dinner roll only butter the piece you intend to eat immediately. Pretty much, butter each bite as you go. Use silverware from the outside in When not using two hands for cutting one hand should remain in your lap. Always eat soup by spooning away from you. Other foods should be picked up the same way. This will avoid the look of shoveling.
i dont think it matter what hand you use
Just make sure when you cut something it doesnt look like you using a saw
Cut with right hand and hold while cutting with left. To eat you transfer fork to right hand and eat. (British: use fork with left hand.) Put napkin on lap. If leave for short time an plan to return to finish eating, put napkin on chair. If finished, when leaving put napkin on table. Cross ankles not legs. Eat with mouth closed. Chew and swallow before talking. Hold glass delicately (thumb and pointer, middle fingers) and take small sips.
napkin on your lap...sit up straight. when cutting steak or other food, fork in your left, knife in right hand then transfer fork to the right hand when eating. when drinking soup tilt bowl outward and spoon in your right hand.. you can also google it for more info...there's so much more
after you cut a pice of meat or vegie make sure you put the knife down between bites, and when you are completely finished the silverware should be placed on your plate to indicate you are done. always put the napkin on your lap.
last time i recalled you dont need a fork and a knife for hamburgers and fries! lol
