Country pubs with log fire?!
Answers: I live in East Yorkshire,England and a group of my woman friends are trying to organise a night out in a pub with a winter/christmas feeling. We're thinking log fires, soft sofas to just spend the night laughing and chatting rather than the usual trawl round the pubs when its too cold. Do you know any pubs that fit the bill? and if so where
Lots of really cosy ones, you'd love them.
But they're here in Ireland!!!
Come over sometime and you'll get a great welcome!
yes just around the corner from me
Thats all very well but every time people open the door the cold still comes in. And how often will that door be opened with people going out for a cigarette and then returning?
I know it's a bit out of you're way, (as much as I love the country pubs down south) one of the best pubs you're talking about sits at the top of Loch Lomond.
As you describe, log fire, comfy couches, all wood surrounds.
Very hard to justify through words,as I'm not a poet.
Doesn't just fit the bill, but you'd be happy to pay the bill!!
It's a pity that it's to far.
Sorry, but good luck anyway.......;-)
How about Tan Hill? Highest pub in England, and must have a logfire as they had to remove the double glazing!
hexham is a great place in northumberland for a cosy country feel
If you're feeling like a holiday, Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall (yes, the famous Daphne du Maurier one) They do nice meals, too! Enormous fire, lot of history, good atmosphere. Not sure if the parrot is still there.
