What about

Pork Chops with Sage and Apples

6 lean pork chops
4 level dessertspoons very finely chopped fresh sage
3 Cox's apples, cored and sliced into rings but with skins left on
5 level tablespoons dried white breadcrumbs
2 small eggs
about 5 tablespoons oil
about 3 oz (75 g) butter
2 medium onion, sliced into rings
salt and freshly milled black pepper

First of all, mix the sage and breadcrumbs together and season well with salt and coarsely milled black pepper. Then beat the egg and dip the pork chops first in the egg, then into the breadcrumb and sage mixture, pressing firmly all round so that the chops get a really good, even coating.

Now heat 2 tablespoons of oil and butter together in a frying pan and, first of all, brown the chops quickly on both sides with the fat fairly hot, then lower the heat and let them gently cook through (it will take around 25-30 minutes depending on the thickness of the chops).

While that's happening, melt a little more butter and oil in another frying pan and fry the apple and onion rings. Drain everything on crumpled silicone paper (parchment) before serving.

try cooking tri-tip on the grill, with chicken rice, a light side salad, with rolls or biscuit, and steamed veggies.

ways to cook a good tri-tip:

first you want to punch holes through the meat.
then want to cut four gashes into your meat, but only on the top
then you want to take some soy sauce and spread a thin layer on both sides.
after that you want to mix garlic, pepper, and magic meat seasoning blend in a bowl.
after mixing the three together rub the seasoning into the meat.
the soy sauce makes a good color on the meat and it helps it stay tender during the cooking stage.

There are many more but these are two main ones that i use.

Home made lasagne with side salad and garlic bread.

It's always a winner and can be cooked the day before.

No stress, - have fun and enjoy your food as much as your company.

make some wraps. Have two different kinds. Like chicken ceasar or chipolte beef with avocado, turkey bacon.

Serve with some orzo salad and potato chips.

My first thought to this was a whole roasted chicken, but you wanted something a little different, so why not get cornish hens and roast them in the oven instead of one chicken. You could serve it with roasted garlic mashed potatos and fresh grean beens.

some good healthy food every one likes

Some lovely roast lemon and rosemary chicken with a mixed wild greens salad and a citrus vinaigrette, roasted fresh baby carrots and a wild and white rice pilaf and a pumpkin flan would be nice with a good coffee for dessert.

anything cooked in a crock pot

fried chicken and fried rice with mushroom soup

Im cooking my first ever proper Sunday lunch with a roast tommorrow!

Im having camembert fondue for starters (just buy a Camembert in a wooden box, pierce the top, add a little wine and thyme, then bake in the box for a while) with nice bread to dunk. Then Im doing a roast leg of lamb (Saffron lamb - nigella Lawson recipe) with roasters, peas and onion supper pie (also a Nigella recipe, its really yummy). Then to finish we are hainv chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin pie!

I always think Roast lamb is the best, but I've never done it myself before, so it may be a disaster! Hope whatever you cook works out ok!

coq au vin (cooked slowly the old french way)

OR

chili roast beef - a traditional joint but with the surface covered in chili powder (and/or mustard powder0 to give it a tang

OR

do a roast chicken in one of those stone things you have to soak in water for an hour first

OR a poached salmon

OR (my favorite) - a TURKEY and set out a 'practice' christmas spread crackers and all

OR

do a regular lunch and focus on a really tasty desert

OR

a selection of curries
