I need ideas for a one hour party hosted at a punk rock clothing store.?!

Question: My budget is 150 dollars for entertainment. I was thinking of having a sumo wrestling contest for prizes we're gonna give away but it turns out to be 250 to rent. Please give me ideas to keep 30 guests entertained for 1 hour. There will be food and drinks along with music because it is a CD release party. The guests are mostly our customers between the ages of 15 and 25 and we need a way to get them involved, comfortable and entertained.

We will be giving out prizes including a couple tickets to a local concert and a bunch of gift certificates. It would be nice if we could have something other than a raffle to give them away.

If it's a cd release party, why not have an in-store show? If the band with the cd isn't appearing in person, try to find an act who will have fans in common with the band whose cd you're promoting. You could also try rock star karaoke: set things up for people to sing punk and rock classics along to backing tracks or with the accompaniment of a couple of your musician friends. Or, if you want to jazz up your prize giveaway, try a Rock Jeopardy game. Ask questions about the band or about music generally. Since you're a clothing store, you also might consider having a prize for best outfit.\

And free beer. Yeah. That's really the only thing that matters. Free. Beer.

-A contest of sorts
Collect 30 different trivia questions (1 per guest).
Print out the questions and cut out each question onto a strip of paper.
Give a question to each guest when they come in.
Tell them they can beg/borrow answers from anyone who will allow it (it will help to get people talking) & to return it to you whenever they THINK they know the answer.
(Depending on how many prizes you have to give away, you will have to limit the number of people to continue to the next round. The first x number of people to submit correct answers will receive a prize and a chance to win the tickets).
Once you have your semi-finalists, you should have a Fill-in-the-lyric final round. Get a good number of songs together which could include songs of the band releasing their album, if many people know their lyrics, and songs in the punk rock genre. I can't see a punk rock clothing store not having a CD player in-house, so your expenses should be limited to the cost of the paper you print the questions on and the electricity to run the stereo.
Even though 10 years doesn't seem like a huge age gap in the scheme of things, I'm 24 and I don't see myself enjoying the same things 14 year-olds do. I think this could be fun for all ages.

Hope this helps. Happy party planning.

maybe rent a fire breather to entertain for a few hours, a mime maybe? maybe have a game where you ask "who has a safety pin(or whatever)?" and give them a prize (like that old game show)

Go with the sumo wrestling contest. Instead of renting one, just go to the nearest costume store being that its still Halloween season and buy two sumo costumes (K-mart has some too). Get two of your people or audience volunteers and wrestle away. The audience can take a poll on who will win and you can set up two different gifts that way (The audience who guesses the winner, and the sumo winner). What you can also do, place a design under one of the plates or cups that a person takes (Make sure everyone holds onto their cups/plates). Then 15-20 minutes into the party make an announcement to have everyone look under their cups/plates for the "Special design." Whoever has it WINS a PRIZE!!!!
Hope this helps! Have fun and good luck!
