How much should a caterer charge me for a cocktail party for 60, providing no alcohol, heavy hor deurves, etc.!

Question: The party is for 60 people. The caterer will provide heavy hor deurves, light desserts, plate service, and two waiters....any idea the range on something like this would be?

You can expect anywhere from $5.00 to $20 dollars per person, depending on how long you are asking the food service to be for and what kind of hor deurves you're having.

About 10-15 dollars a person i would say

It would depend on what hor dourves you are having. There are many that could jack the price up considerably. You have to be the best judge, and shop around.

A reasonable amount would be around $20-$25 per person. It depends on how fancy the items are, and length of time. They will include the cost of the food, prep, chef time and waitstaff pay. If it is a pretty fancy party then don't be surprised to spend around $1500.

LOL> I need to live where the $20 price range is. I am an ex chef and have been involved in catering.

I would guess depending on where you live you can expect to pay more like $30 to $60 a person. There is lots more to catering than just wait staff and cooking charges. Just getting the items there is expensive.

between 7-10 bucks per person for heavy hors'douvres.

the s*** dont come in a can you know...Its very labor intensive!

I'm getting married next year and have been looking into caterers and know how you feel. I can say that you are looking at $25-40 per person minimum! Plate service is something that costs extra, and they really get you with the hor deurves (I really wanted an hor deurves buffet, but it was way too pricey). Sounds like a lot, but you get what you pay for! Good luck, and definitely shop around!!
