Swing Dance Party & Soda Fountain Suggestions??!

Question: For my 16th birthday party in my backyard and I'm going to have a soda fountain set up in my garage ( which has black and white checkered tile floors, black walls, and a red ceiling) I', going to have a little bar set up where shakes, sundaes etc will be served. Also, I'm going to have neon lights on the wall and a silver bar and bar stools with it. What other decorative things could i use? It's going to be a swing dancing party and we're going to have a dance instructor there.

Think vynil record shapes, poodle skirts. Even posters of icons like young Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, etc...
Hula-hoops were very big in the 50's as were limbo contests, you could do some of those as party games, and even a bubble blowing contest.
Your atmosphere seems like it will be pretty authentic! Have fun!

You must make sure that you have Hershey's Syrup for chocolate sodas! It may seem bizarre, but those are fantastic with a scoop of vanilla icecream! I would also suggest a prize for the best costume. For example, the best poodle skirt for the girls, and the guy with the best greaser costume. Sounds like fun!
