Any ideas for husband 50th birthday party including co-workers,inexpensiv!

Question: When someone I worked woth turned 50 we did this and it was hysterical. Let all invitees know what you are doing. Put a note in the inviation, etc. Ask them to bring items that he will need now that he is "over the hill." Prune juice, diapers, denture cream, Bayer aspirin, etc. Remind everyone to bring something no matter how small. Place the items in a special box so he will get them all at one time.

I'd find a local bar/tavern that has an area you can use. sometimes they may charge you a small fee for the space, but sometimes not. I'd only ask close friends and relatives to bring food. maybe have a taco or burger bar for the guests with all the fixins. pre-make all the food and have it in big crock pots. you can buy a 1/2 barrel for your guests to have complimentary beer and maybe some wine and soda, they can buy their own mixed drinks. put up some decorations and maybe hire some entertainment, a mime, magician, tarot card reader, a belly dancer, maybe a singing telegram for the birthday boy. have a slide show going on someones laptop or bring a small TV with a DVD player to play it on all night (have someone assigned to keep their eye on it so it doesn't walk off!). or you can make picture boards of all the pictures- people like these, keeps them busy and talking! If it's at a bar people will be coming and going all night, have a great time!

You could ask each guest to bring an appetizer. It would be fun.
