Lemon & Lime Lunchen Theme!?!


Question: I am having a lunchen for about 10 ladies. the theme is lemon and lime. it is a pot luck, so everyone has to incorporate those citruses in their dishes. i was wondering if anyone had any meal ideas, drink ideas, and decoration ideas that i can use. i am the host, and i need a meal to serve. or app. so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. some centerpiece ideas would be nice to. serious answers only plese. ten points to the best answer. thank you.

Yes the other ladies will want to know what to bring, so everything won't be the same as other dishes. Once you decide on your menu you can make suggestions.

Get half as many as you need of dinner, lunch and dessert plates in two different colors: one lime, one lemon yellow . Total equals servings needed. Use dazzling white linen table cloths and napkins, clear stemware, silverware or clear utensils. All can be done in throw away if necessary. Now here's the fun part: Alternate the colors of dinner plates at place setting, Place different color lunch plate on top of that--lime dinner & yellow lunch; yellow dinner & lime lunch.

Large clear pedestal bowl or goblet for centerpiece with lemons, limes, clear glass ornaments. Or various height candles in correct colors in groupings of 3 or 5 or any odd number on pedestals with colored bows.

Lemon colors flower arrangement with lime green touches.

Could do the fire and ice theme, using a very large low clear container, different height clear containers placed in large container, lemon and lime squat candles within inner containers, scrunch clear wrapping cellophane and place among and around candle bearing containers, add water. Just before meal, light containers. Viola- fire and ice.
Or use three large goblets with this in center of table for another take on the fire and ice theme.

Sweet Lemon Bread

1 c butter, softened
2 c sugar
4 Eggs
1/2 t salt
1/2 t baking soda
3 c All-purpose Flour
1 c Buttermilk
1 ea lemon rind, grated
1 c chopped pecans

-LEMON GLAZE
1 x Juice of 3 Lemons
1 c sugar

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Cream butter and 2 cups of sugar. Add eggs, one at a time,
beating after each addition. Sift together salt, soda and flour.
Add to sugar mixture alternating with buttermilk.
Stir in lemon rind and pecans. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour.

Lemon Glaze:
While bread bakes, mix lemon juice and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved, making a glaze.
After bread has baked, turn onto waxed paper and spoon glaze over top while bread is still HOT.
