Anybody got any ideas for this dish?!
Answers: I'm having my boss and her husband over for dinner and I wanted to do something special. My friend told me that everyone loves Spam, so how do I go about preparing it please?
Fry it, slap it on some toasted, buttered bread, slop a layer of raspberry preserves on top, quickly dip in batter, deep fry until golden, eat, call ambulance and scream "My back! My neck! My neck and my back!"
lovely mmmmmmmmmmm i would simply upend the beauty from its can and serve on a silver platter..........
Seriously?... I'd go for something a bit nicer than Spam... Truthfully almost anything would be better than that. Make something you are comfortable with and have made before. That way you'll know what you're doing and what to expect.
Fried Spam - always a crowd pleaser! serve with some crackers and Cheese Whiz for appetizers. I mean Who doesn't love cheese in a can.
You've heard of a Turduckin, right? You can do the same idea with spam and make a "Spigow" by reuniting Spam into its original animals: the pig and cow.
Start with 4 cans of Spam, stuf into one gutted pig, and stuff that into one gutted cow. Salt well and throw into open fire pit for 6 to 14 hours, or until a fork comes out clean when you test it.
You could cut it into small chunks and use it as a replacement for chicken in chicken cacciatore.
Or you can prepare it with white rice and soffrito beans.

Spam really??? I would do like a easy past dish or a roasted chicken with roasted potatos and a salad. But if you have to go with spam you can make spam sushi ... cook some japanese sticky rice and form it into a ball lay a slice of pan fried spam on top. It's pretty good !!
I think that your friend was pulling your leg, many people do not like Spam and wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot fork and knife and consider this the best recipe: open can, bury contents, eat can.
Try this instead - makes for a very impressive presentation:
Crimson Cherry-Glazed Holiday Hens
Prep: 20 minutes
Cook: 20 minutes
Roast: 60 minutes
Ingredients
4 24-ounce Cornish game hens
2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 cup sliced or chopped shallot
2 tablespoons butter
1 12-ounce jar red cherry preserves (with whole cherries)
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cut one of the cloves of garlic in half and rub the skin of each hen with cut side of garlic clove. Mince remaining garlic clove and set aside. Tie drumsticks to tail. Brush hens with olive oil and sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Place hens, breast side up, on a rack in a shallow roasting pan; twist wing tips under back (see photo 4). Roast, uncovered, for 60 to 75 minutes or until juices run clear and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thigh of each hen registers 180 degrees F. (The thermometer should not touch bone.)
2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan cook shallot and minced garlic in butter over medium heat about 3 minutes or until tender, stirring often. Stir in preserves, vinegar, allspice, and cloves. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Boil gently, uncovered, about 20 minutes or until desired glazing consistency.
3. To serve, transfer hens to a serving platter. Spoon glaze over hens. Makes 4 servings.
I hope you're joking. Unless you live in Hawaii, don't make Spam! How about a nice roasted chicken and mashed potatoes and salad. Some fresh French bread with butter, yum!
You could use it as a substitute for the meat in a cabbage roll recipe. I make this for my in-laws when they come over. They don't come over that often anymore, I don't know why.
Oh Lord! I hate spam! I'm not sure spam would be your best choice for having your boss over. I would not consider spam special. (I'd really rethink this, but maybe I'm just crazy).
do not listen to your friend. does meat in a can really sound appetizing to you? there are plenty simple recipes on the internet that you can impress your boss with much more than Spam.
try deep fried twinkies! u can make them at home.
