Surprise Party Situation?!

Question: So I've planned a surprise party for this weekend for my boyfriend at a club but we're using the downstairs arcade and pool tables since it only consists of about 10 people. All 10 of us are pulling money together and getting him the ipod touch (since that's all he has been raving about getting for himself). He got a little suspicious and told his brother (who is in on this) thought I might be up to something. But his brother was able to lie and tell him "to tell you the truth... she was thinking about having the party, but I was able to convince her not to do it because I have your back and such." so is this a bad idea that I'm throwing him a party if he might not even enjoy it? AND one of his teammates (invited to the party) just told me that one of his other teammates might be throwing a sports party on that same night and he'll most liklely want to go to that. But I've been planning this party for weeks and it would just suck to have it go to waste. What do you guys think?

Most people - no matter what they say - really enjoy that you went through the effort of throwing a surprise party! I think that what you're doing is really sweet, plus having everyone go in on the IPOD? - Brilliant idea! If that's what he's been wanting, how can he not love it? And the fact that you and all his friends went in on it! It's always fun too, after the fact, to find out how many people conspired against you to keep the party a secret! You should definitely go ahead with the party. If the other party scares you, can you plan on everyone going there afterwards? Or getting everyone there to come to yours? Try to work them together, if you can. Otherwise, I am pretty confident that he will be happy he spent the night with you and a group that cared enough about him to try and surprise him! Have a fun night! You're a doll for planning all this!

Definately throw the party!!!

I don't think the arcade is too kiddish. 17 year old boys like to play video games. It's a no brainer.

Remember to relax. Enjoy this party. Chances are he will remember this for ever and really be thankful to have such a sweet and thoughtful girlfriend.

Put out some good food and sodas and yummy cake and it can't go wrong.
