i dont want to just make a steak and thats it
anyone have any ideas ?

How about roasted sweet potatoes, and fresh string beans sauteed in olive oil, garlic, and sweet pimentos. This could be with the steak.

How about a shrimp cocktail, caesar salad, baked potatoes and and sorbet for dessert. For the shrimp cocktail you can buy about 20(.5lb+) or so medium shrimp for about 5 dollars, raw. Boil them in a pot of salted water for about 2 minutes or until they turn that white-pink color, remove from water and chill until ready to serve. For cocktail sauce, mix ketchup and prepared horseradish, I do a 50-50 ratio but I like it hot. For the potatoes, if you have those long nails people use, insert in the potato and bake for an hour at 375. If you do't have a nail it will be fine. Use this for the caesar salad (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Outrageous-... You can buy sorbet or make it with this or use this (http://www.ehow.com/how_16863_make-straw... I use less sugar (3/4c) and don't have an ice cream maker, just put it in the freezer and stir around every hour until set. If you don't like sorbet make a chocolate cake. Also for the steak I use NY strip steaks seasoned with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and marjorum. enjoy!
