What is dinner at college like?!
The first university I went to had actual chefs, so our food was always good. We always had hamburgers, sandwich bar, and salad bar, as well as a changing menu. For breakfast there was always grits, hashbrowns and a changing bread item like waffles, pancakes, and french toast. Everything was all u can eat.
The second university I went to has a sandwich bar, fresh pasta bar, rice station, and a changing menu (that is usually gross) and a salad and dessert bar-which is all u can eat. They also have an a la carte cafe that has hamburgers, chicken teners, chicken sadnwiches, french fries, philly steaks, etcc... There is also a Pizza Hut, Burger King, and Taco Bell.
A community college I attended had a changing menu, and a similar A La Carte menu to the previous college, but no bars and wasn't all u can eat.
Most students after the first year chose to have in room fridges and microwaves for their own food (Ramen Noodles are a staple) and many ordered take out daily
Answers: It depends on your college.

The food at my college was at first okay but got progressively worse as time went on. My ex used to call the place "Nasty Bob's".
if you can cook and don't mind cooking then it's good..but if not, then:
1) dorm food
2) sandwiches, salads, etc.
3) cup noodles, microwaveables, etc.
4) fastfood chains nearby
When my son went to Western Michigan Univ, I was impressed with the selection: hot foods, salad and dessert bars, sandwiches (pre-made or make your own) soups. etc. The couple of time I ate there I thought the food was just ok, certainly edible but not like I would make at home
