How should I plan a cd release party for my fiance's band?!

Question: find someplace where the band can play like a local bar- tell them they'll play for free. give away free CD's and Tshirts during the event, start a sign up sheet to email people about upcoming events.

choose a good venue and ask the management how they usually run things. or go to one and see how it is run. choose the stuff that you like and ignore the ideas you don't like.

Does his band play anywhere locally? See if you can arrange an open party there.Maybe do a press release?Do they have a manager?They maybe able to arrange that part better.
