Need Ideas for FINGER FOODS?!

Question: I posted this a little while ago....

My husband and I watch THE game (Michigan v. OSU) every year eating FINGER FOODS....I usually make potato skins, jalapeno poppers, nachos...stuff like that...BUT it's getting old.

I need some NEW ideas for FINGER FOODS (I'm capitalizing it because when I posted before people actually suggested baking a Ham...or making spaghetti...last time I checked those were MEALS...you aren't supposed to eat spaghetti with your fingers unless you under 4)

Anyone have any good ideas besides the normal nachos or chips and dip?

Thanks.

I've made these several times and they are always a hit.

Taco Pinwheels

4 ounces cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup cooked and drained seasoned taco meat (ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning)
1/4 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup salsa
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons chopped ripe olives
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
5 flour tortillas (8 inches)
1/2 cup shredded lettuce
Additional salsa

In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese. Stir in the taco meat, cheese, salsa, mayonnaise, olives and onion. Spread over tortillas. Sprinkle with lettuce; roll up tightly. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Unwrap and cut into 1-in. pieces. Serve with additional salsa. Yield: about 3 dozen appetizers.

(I didn't quite get 3 doz out of the receipe, but I have doubled the receipe for larger crowds).

One thing is to make a cold wrap (like a burrito) with turkey and lettuce and cheese, or whatever. Then slice it into small discs that you can pick up and eat. You can make two or three different kinds.

What about BBQ meatballs you can eat them with tooth picks.

in a crockpot put a full bag of semi thawed meatballs a can of miller beer and a bottle of your fav BBQsauce set for low and it should be done in 2-4 hours they are very yummy.

I was trying to say to bake a ham and make sandwiches with it, that why I said rolls and cheese, but whatever. Sorry for such a rotten idea. Dont be so picky.

well if you like seafood you could wrap some shrimp in a good ham (proscuitto maybe) with some cheese (goat) and bake them.

deviled eggs are a good snack

get some sliced rib-eye, sautee it with some mushroom aand onions then layer it on a crostini (french bread cut on an angle) , top with cheese and serve it with a good horseradish sauce.

you could make pinwheels, cocktail sausages, meatballs in bar-b-que sauce, order a sandwich tray from subway. Good luck, I hope you find what you need.

Potato skins, mozzerella sticks, hot wings, mini cheeseburgers, corn dogs, assorted sandwhiches....

For watching games, I like to do meatballs (you can even buy the mini-buns), hot wings, sweet and sour wings, sausage and cheese stuffed mushrooms, hot artichoke dip in a bread bowl - easy stuff and most of it can be prepped ahead of time!

What about queen scallops, Italian sausage and potato rosti all the same diameter with a wooden skewer or toothpick. Small buns with tenderized steak and onion chutney. To name but a couple......

1.chicken wings
2.pigs in a blanket --- email if you directions please
3.pizza crackers
4.mini burgers
5.mini apple tarts
6.tuna/seafood (actually any thing you like) wontons --- you will need directions for this one if you want to make it...it is not the 'normal type' method for wontons
7. chicken tenders with dipping sauce
8. steak fingers
9. fruit and veggie tray with dipping sauces

Please email if you want to make any of the above, I'd be more then happy to provide both the recipe and directions. Good Luck.

how about mini bagel pizzas, mazzarella sticks, chicken fingers, or buffalo wings, or chips and dip like salsa or beans, or how about this, make mac and cheese, and bake in cap cake pans, they are sooo good, ans nice and small, make sure you use a good recipe though, so they stay together, and aren't gloopy, the frozen section at the store has a lot of good finger foods

What about scallops wrapped in bacon? You wrap the bacon around the scallop, and hold it in place with a toothpick, then you can either grill them in a grill pan or broil them. You serve them with the toothpick and they're perfectly bite-sized.

hor 'derves:

you will need:
package sliced ham
package cream cheese
pimentos
long sliced pickles
the long thin onions
syran wrap

take a peice of ham and spread your cream cheese over the whole ham. then take a pickle and slice it so its half of what it was place it on the ham and cream cheese roll it up and place syran wrap on it. do the same with the pimentos and the onions though you dont need to cut them. wrap them all up and place in the fridge for 1-2 hours. then take them out and slice them up in like O shapes. tastes great and quick and easy.

spinach dip:

what you will need:

lipton onion flavored dip mix in a box
8 ounce tub of sourcream
some frozen spinache

take all those ingredients mix them together and all you need is some italian bread and you dip your bread its real good.

i no you didnt think much of chips but here are maybe some different dip recipes maybe even for later:

can of chili beans
cream chease
jar salsa

mix together and heat its real good.

or

Big block of velveta
pound of hamburger
taco seasoning
salsa
cream cheese
cup of milk

cook the taco seasoning and the hamburger together.
then cut the velveta cheese up in chunks and heat on stove with the milk stirring constantly dont burn it put it on med heat.
when half way melted add cream cheese. when all is melted add the meat and the salsa.

hope something helped

We like a cheese, olives and fruit platter with sliced french breads. Shrimp with cocktail sauce or drumettes in BBQ sauce are also yummy side dishes with the cheese platter. Honey roasted nuts make a nice change from chips. All these are minimal prep time for more time on the couch! It all goes well with beer or wine and THE game!

crab cakes are always good if you like sea food. Also fruits and veggies. Veggies especially with ranch dip. i'm not sure if you like that kind of thing but they are always good finger foods! :D

Those sound wicked good.

French Fries with sour cream and cheese =] sorta like potato skins but with more of a BANG.

Anything marked "kid foods" that are really great. I know it sounds stupid, but they're fabulous for those types of events, you just want fun foods!

Onion Rings, Quasadillas (sp?), and foods like that are fun =] with many dipping sauces... also small pizzas are great, like made on an English muffin... :)

+PLUS: mini cold cut sandwiches with the little olives and tooth picks are great! =]

Hope I helped! and Have fun!

p.s. that's really funny, yeah, i never knew that spaghetti was finger food :)

Make some wings. Or even egg rolls. Egg rolls are very good. You could also get some chicken nuggets from somewhere.
