Planning a Black and White Sweet 16 Party?!

Question: I am planning my sweet 16 and i'm having it at my country club. The theme is a black and white party. I want the room to be decked out with black and white and hot pink accents. It's formal cocktail dinner. My cake is gonna have black, white, and hot pink polka dots. Black and white pictures of me growing up will decorate the walls and i don't know what else to do as far as decorating and activities go. Anyone have any ideas?

Black lighting at the club could be hard since I don’t know what the lighting set up is going to be plus it would not give the right lighting for pictures too.
But for a center piece I have a few ideas for you.
1) Get some mirrors and place in the middle of the table. Then get some champagne glasses or martinis will work too. Then add in a few black/white and pink glass beads like they use in flower arrangements and place small candles in the middle or u can fill them with water and float a single rose on top. What every color of rose or candle you use keep that at a minimal in the glass.
2) you could get some high heel pumps in black (small purses can work too) and place one in center of table then add some strings of white strings of beads draped on them with them flowing over the pump add s few pink rose petals on and around the center piece
3) ok last choice I can think of is very easy and looks nice get some glass bowls that look like a round circle with an opening at the top you can also use one of those tall cylinder kinds too and fill them half way with Black, white small xmas bulbs place on a mirror and just sprinkle a little bit of pink confetti around it. Also you can find some that says sweet sixteen too.
For decorations around the room white and black Chinese lateens hang with just some streamers (Mostly BL/WH) coming down.
Also see if they can make some black, white and pink drinks severed in Martini glasses. Chocolate covered strawberry at each setting on the table dipped in half white and half dark chocolate that has been tinted with black.
For place cards just go with a simple white card with black writing on them and place a small pink bow at left hand corner.
Tables -white table cloths first then use Black on top moved so you can see both colors.
Flower arrangements cane be done in with and black roses with a few pink in them. Make sure with the pink ones you always have an odd number of them.
This is just a few ideas good luck

black lights are a must!!!

African-Americans & Caucasians only?!!

you could get a black light and hang up....will make the colors reallly come out.

lot of salt & pepper

Ohh, I love planning parties!!!

You can have black and white puff balls hanging from the ceiling.

Also, you can have white and hot pink roses.

Black and white ribbons is a good idea too.

Black and White Oxford Shoes. Now that's kool!

You can ask 16 of your closest friends and family to present you with a rose or to light a candle for you and as they do so they say something about you that they love or admire. If it is candles do not use the cake candles - do the taper in a cup thing or the cake will be covered in wax by the time you get through all 16. And so everyone can join in have a close family member come up with "you" questions, like - learned to ride at bike at _____ age, favorite pet ____,
kindergarten hero, first broken bone ____, first kiss, first crush, favorite boy band growing up, etc. Have about 12 questions and divide them up into 3 groups. Put questions on a poster board with some relevant art work and that goes on an easel, put answer sheets on tables and have guests go around to boards to see questions. go over questions as part of the party to see who go right answers - just something fun to do.
Happy early Sweet 16!

I suggest using optical illusions in your decorating. Most of those are black and white, and it will make a nice conversation piece for your guests. Maybe tack some to the walls, have them hanging from streamers, or set up "menu" styled illusion books on tables. If you really want to go far with this idea, you could outline the "answers" to the illusions in hot pink for guests who just can't figure them out.

You could also play Human Chess with a black and white larger-than-life chess board. Same with Checkers, and you could use hot pink giant circles for the checker pieces.

Black and white flowers painted with hot pink centers everywhere is a good idea for decorations. The theme sounds great, you should have a great time. For activities you can play games like who knows the birthday girl best. It's like a trivia game. For a cocktail dinner there isn't much activities besides mingling and eating going on for the most part, so that is always an activity. Hope you a great 16th!
