kids this age love bread. you could bring whole wheat rolls. If you want something more make mini sandwiches with the rolls. You could also try Jello with fruit in it, fruit salad, trail mix,...

Make sure to go nut free. A lot of places prefer just to stay far away from nuts in school settings b/c of possible allergies.

Cookies in a thanksgiving shape?

make ginger bread cookies. get them at the store frozen. or decorate carrots like pilgrims.

altho its not too nutritional..
but i always loved puppy chow!! and its quick and easy!

Peanutbutter and jelly sandwich cut out like turkeys, pilgrims, and indians.

carrot sticks with ranch dressing....zuccini sticks, cut broccoli
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches......baked beans and hot dogs. corn dogs and macroni cheese...

I have an 8-year-old boy who is a very picky eater. What always works, most kids like, very healthy and is easy and quick to prepare (even though it's not very thanksgivingy) is a purred veggie-tomato sauce with pasta.

You'll need:
1 Ts Olive Oil
1/2 onion
2 carrot
1 stalk celery
1/2 c frozen peas
1/2 c frozen corn
1 c broccoli florets
1/2 red bell pepper
2 cans diced organic tomatoes in juice
salt & pepper to taste

Just chop all the veggies, sautee the onions first for a few minutes, then add all the veggies, sautee for about 5 to 10 minutes, then add the tomatoes. Bring to a boil, puree in a blender or food processor...done.
My son devours the pasta with sauce and has no idea how many veggies he's actually eating. The corn and pepper adds a lot of natural sweetness.

If you want something more typical for Thanksgiving, try this:

2 acorn squash
2 Ts butter
1 Ts maple syrup
mini-marshmallows

Cut the squashs in half, roast cut side facing down for about 45 minutes at 375 degrees, until it's done. Let it cool down a bit, spoon the flesh into food processor, add butter and maple syrup, and puree. Fill muffin cups 1/2 full with puree, add with a few little marshmallows, and put in the oven until the marshmallows are nicely browned.
