If what the British call biscuits are called cookies in the US?!

Question: then what we call biscuits in the US, what are they called in England? and if i wanted to eat biscuits and gravy (an American staple) in England, what is the closest thing to it?

Scones are about the closest you will get here.
I think you will have far more trouble getting gravy like your US stuff unless you make it from scratch. Gravy here is quite a different beast from your southern style gravy for biscuits.
Then again, if you want biscuits EXACTLY like yours then you will also have to make them from scratch... scones are just, on the whole, only interchangeable and not exactly the same.
Just like I never got a decent cup of tea or hearty steak pie in America, you will not get an exact replica of biscuits and gravy here. That didn't mean I didn't enjoy my time in America, I just ate local!

Scones OK. Maybe that's not fair. Unless scones are freshly made by local experts they are cement-like lumps with little taste - like the worst kind of biscuit.

Maybe biscuit means human limb.

If you wanted to eat Biscuits in England, the closest thing
you would get would be called Scones. British people don't eat biscuits and gravy. Also potato chips are called crisps. French fries are called chips.Strange world we live in!!

British = Biscuits
US = Cookies

British = Bread rolls/buns
US = Biscuits

Cobblers are what are served on top of a stew in Britain and eaten with gravy. They can be cheesy, plain or herby. Cobblers are like a savoury or plain scone. They are usually round and fairly thick with a spongy centre. Not so good for the waistline but yummy!

Scones as per previous conversation :)
