British and American foods?!
(Basically, if British candies are sweeter than American?)
Answers: I've heard that in Britain, sweets there are more sugary and have more flavor than in America, and I was just wondering if that was true or not.

We in Britain, usually use artificial sweeteners as well as natural ones, over sugars like glucose, fructose and sucrose. We use one called astantamine or something that begins with Astanta... which is made from the rind of grapefruits. It's so bitter, it 'shuts them down' for the time it's on the tongue, making everything taste sweeter!
Based on British teeth, I am going to say "yes, more sugar"
I'm an American. But I spent quite a bit of time living in Britain, in the early 80's. While not all British candies are sweeter than American candies. In general, I did find a lot of them are indeed sweeter.
Most of the Brit sweets I have the pleasure in eating, have seemed sweeter.
i would have to say brits candy and cholcolate is better than here, take cadbury dairy milk for instance, it is soooo much better, milkier, and creamier than ours. it tastes a lot better, too. they do have good sweets and candy. i dont know off hand whether it is in fact sweeter, i got the british teeth past down though, and that comment seems to be true for most of them lol which boggles my mind because of their national dental care system for free! i wish! the one thing that is bland and boring is their salad, it comes with one kind of salad dressing, mayonaise. "it is called salad cream" but it is no different than miracle whip in taste.yuck, no wonder they take pride in their junk food instead of eating healthy.
