What is the difference between yellowtail and yellowfin tuna?!

Question: Yellowtail is a different breed of fish. The meat is mostly white with pink just under the skin and it's very good raw. The meat from tuna is pink to reddish and good raw as well as cooked. Tuna can be found naturally in many places throughout the world but Yellowtail seems to be most widely available in Japan and Hawaii.

In a sushi bar you would ask for Maguro if you want tuna and Hamachi if you want yellowtail. You will see that yellowtail usually costs more because it is considered more of a delicacy.
