What a wonderful way to eat food. Every time I eat curried food, or smell curry I always wonder how it came about and what culture figured out how to do it! What I really think is interesting is how many cultures have curries that are not necessarily Indian, like the east African countries have blends that are similar.

I love making it and cooking with it. My poor Swedish friend, she just doesn't get it...

Curry is a wonderful marriage of vegetables (or chicken, seafood....) with aromatic spices. It is the very essence of many cuisines such as Indian, Thai, Malay, Indonesian, Caribbean....

The are so many different types of curries, the possibilities are really endless. You can really let your culinary imagination flow!

curry??......ummmmm...excellently goes with steamed rice and hand made breads that are baked in fire
a lot of uses of spices......like turmaric...red chilli..corriender..jeera...nutmeg...gar...
and is great with fishes or chicken or beef or mutton....even in vegetables.....

I prefer sweet curry to hot curry, myself. I particularly like Thai food with curried peanut sauce which can be made with sweet curry, peanut butter, coconut milk or paste, brown sugar, sesame oil, and a dash of hot sauce / Tobasco. I mix this with noodles or use it as a dipping sauce for chicken satay on a stick.

Another member of my house does not like any kind of curry at all which is strange because they have a wide and varied palate.

Some people identify the smell of curry with Indian-food cooking and yes, if you cook with a lot of curry on a regular basis, it can permeate the house, furniture, your clothes, your own personal chemistry, etc., so I try to use in moderation.

It's good, but I can't eat too much of it.

Delicious im obsessed with all types of it.

LOVE IT! make it almost every day
