Help! Scorched Spaghetti Sauce! How do I fix?!

Question: I have a whole pot of homemade spaghetti sauce with meatballs and I accidentally scorched a couple of the meatballs on the bottom of the pan. I turned the heat down right away but now it has that "scorched" smell. Anything I can do to counter that?

Slam it into a new pot asap, there will be less taste of burntness going through it. Get some potato's and cook them for a little bit, should get rid of much of it

no

I would chuck it.

Yes...peel a couple potatoes and throw them in to simmer with the sauce on very low

The sauce probably still tastes good, but the smell is in the kitchen. Add some parmesian cheese and a little bit of sugar to the mix. If that doesn't get rid of any scorched taste or smell in the sauce, toss in a little Italian seasoning. Switch pots if possible too. Good luck.

DONT STIR IT...

scoop the unscorched part from the top
add 1 tbs brown sugar

it should be okay

discard the bottom part of sauce where it was scorched

transfer to another pot and do not add the burnt part-- taste for bad flavor. Immediate transfer next time if it is too late now

I have done this don't mix it. pour into big bowl and leave the burn stuff into the pan. check it again then if it still has the burnt smell then I think it may be ruined.

Nope, because when you taste it, you will find out that it tastes scorched as well. Had the same experience with a pot of beef stew recently.

Try some garlic powder or real garlic and maybe some
italian spices like oregano etc...I doubt that this will make something scorched edible though. It might work. I'm giving it like a 2% chance of sucess. 98% chance it needs to be dumped straight into the garbage.

Yes,throw it out and run to the nearest grocery and get jarred sauce, such as Newman's own, Buy a pound of good ground steak. season it with salt pepper, garlic powder. Oregano, Basil
& Tarragon( or a jar or mixed Italian herbs), saute the meat in olive oil & make meat sauce. Quick and good! Good luck!

nah there is nothing you can do that will fully get that scortched taste out of it.
I would ditch the sauce and start over!

Perhaps?...prevention is better than cure?...you need to use a "diffuser" between the cooking ring and the saucepan?...I use a cast iron skillet type frying pan?...upside down on the ring and use a lower heat...It depends on how much burnt stuff you transferred to another saucepan?...whether you can save it or not...you can always turn it into a curry?...hot spices were originally used to hide tainted meat and stuff?...before fridges were invented...

Before throwing it out, I would try squeezing lemon juice into a little at a time and see if the burnt smell and taste go out of it.
