Is it wrong or strange to go eat chinese hot pot by yourself?!

Question: I'm craving some hot pot like crack and cannot find anyone to come with. I've never seen anyone eating hot pot by themselves, and really could care less, but I'm just curious if people do this often.

No, its not wrong to eat chinese hot pot by yourself or strange either. Sometimes people look at you like you're weird but that's because you're eating by yourself and its not the hotpot that is giving them that idea. but the downside of having hotpot by yourself is that normally, ingredients come in portions and if you're by yourself, you wouldn't be able to try as many ingredients and if you order more, you wouldn't be able to finish. and i don't think hotpot is the type of food that you can "doggie-bag".

Think about it, is eating food wrong? No, never. You are not hurting anyone, you are not committing a crime. You want hot pot, go and enjoy it.

Just tell the waiter that it's a solo. I think they will know how to arrange the amount of ingredients. There's nothing wrong to eat anything alone in this world... Enjoy your meal...

Your friends are very weird... While I wouldn't eat it every day, a trip to the hot pot restaurant is usually very welcome.

While it would be more enjoyable to eat HOT POT with a significant other, there is no shame in dining alone.

In fact, I always over order sushi at the sushi bar so I hve some to take home.

If the waitresss looks at me funny when ordering, I just explain I'm taking some home.
