Nimbu Soda

Juice of 1 lime
Pinch of salt
Sugar or equivalent
Some ice
2 glasses club soda

JAL JEERA:

2 tablespoons Cumin seeds - dry roasted and ground fine
2 tablespoons Mint leaves paste
1/2 teaspoon fresh Cilantro leaves paste
1 tablespoon Dried mango powder/Amchur
1/2 teaspoon Black salt (an important ingredient for this recipe)
2 tablespoons Lemon juice
Pinch of Sugar
5 cups of Chilled water
Mint Leaves for garnishing

In a bowl mix all of the above ingredients except the water and mix well. Add the cold water. Garnish with mint leaves.

To make a soda: just add Club Soda

Black Salt also known as Rock Salt. is a special type of Indian mineral salt. It's more greyish pink than black and has a very special smokey flavor.

Limbu Soda

This is very easy: it's just freshly squeezed lime juice, sugar if needed and club soda.

I"m not sure if this is what you want, but after living in South India for one year I grew to LOVE fresh lime soda (choices are sweet or salty and I love salty, especially if hot out)

Squeeze half a lime into a glass, top up the glass with club soda. Sprinkle in some salt and watch it fizz up. I'm addicted to these in the summer. No calories !!
