Honey, it is part of Latin American Culture and yes it has chocolate ,but it has pumpkin, peanut, oil, cinnamon, red pepper, salt, oregano, cumin, and garlic. Mole means Sauce ,so it used various recipes with it with chicken, tamales,or alone with tortillas.

have you ate it before? I guess not. I'm asian, and for the summertime being, I travelled to Guanajuato, Gualajara, and Sinaloa and when I heard mole (chocolate chicke) i was grossed out, so my friend gave me a sample, and it didn't taste that so bad. You may look up mole in wikipedia or google it up.

Have you ever tasted chocolate that doesn't have sugar in it? Its quite bitter. Most people would have an adverse reaction to it. But at a little sugar and it changes the taste so much that it is elevated to a new level. None the less, if you haven't ever tried mole how can you possibly suggest it isn't good.

Yes, I believe mole is considered the national dish of Mexico and there is a lot more to it than chiles and chocolate. It often has dozens of herbs, toasted nuts and/or seeds, tomatoes, tomatillos.

The name mole comes from a Oaxacan dialect and simply means sauce. There are probably hundreds of moles, only some of which will have chocolate, the most famous being mole poblano, probably. There are red moles, black moles and green ones. Different regions make different kinds of moles.

So before you decide that you don't like mole why don't you find out what it is and maybe taste it. If you taste it and still say, "yuck" it will have least have been said with some authority.

I thought the same thing. Until I tried making it. The chocolate is very subtle, you can't taste it. It just balances the other flavors. Give it a try!

Well the chocolate has no additives to it except water and some oils i believe so it has no sugar in it and is not a dessert and it might have originated when there might have been less food in some place and they decided to mix up a whole bowl of food to get everything together and people continued eating it.

It's not just chocolate but peanuts & spices too.
It sounds odd doesn't it? But it's not.... How often do you put marshmallows in your hot chocolate or eat bananas with peanut butter. There are many combinations of foods that the end result takes the palate to a higher realm of taste.
It's a Mexican dish I suppose. Cocoa has been used for at least since 1000BC in Mexico and parts south of. I suppose if you had it as a raw ingredient for so long it would take much time before you started to put it everywhere. Look at how it's so common now to dip strawberries into chocolate. Fifty years ago it was practically unheard of.

I remember the first time I had Chicken Mole, I wasn't even sure what it was but I tried it out anyways. My friend's mother made some for dinner before our night out and it was delicious. It's something different that I've never had before and was quite good, especially with rice. You can only eat so much of it though, if you take more than what you can handle then it starts to taste nasty. In a way it's not too much different from eating BBQ Chicken. Both dishes have it's sweet side to it and too much of it would make me want to vomit.

Well, where do you think chocolate comes from? It is not just chocolate chiken there's more than 35 ingredients in some moles! Plus, it isn't a piece of chicken covered in Hershey's chocolate! Chocolate in itself is pretty bitter. Anyways, I think it is DELICIOUS!! In fact I'm planning on making some this weekend! With some nice warm corn tortillas! MMmmmm!
