Is there Chinese cheese??!

Question: There are no chinese dairy cheeses. Some Northern peoples along the Mongolian border used to drink horse milk when they were still semi-nomadic, but Han Chinese don't drink milk. More than 90% are lactose intolerant, and the Chinese never domesticated any dairy-producing animals like sheep or cattle.

Tofu, as someone else mentioned, is basically cheese-making using soy beans. Nowadays, there are LOTS of Chinese foods incorporating Western dairy products, like sweet milk tofu, cream filled pineapple buns and egg tart. Most main dishes, however, don't use dairy products.

yes it is called ToFu

All I can say is that I was talking to my friend from China, i told her that none of our "chinese food" ever includes cheese. She said they don't eat dairy as much over there. (the genetics of people of asian decent are more likely to include lactose intolerance) but she could drink milk and eat cheese just fine.

However i was at an asian store in Seattle (the big one) and they had all kinds of baked goods and one of them included cheese.. kind of like a cheesecake pastry, subtle with the sweetness.. it was really good.

Yunnan cheese is a milk cheese made in Yunnan province in China. It goes by several different names locally, including the general word for cheese in Mandarin, rǔ lào (乳酪). It is made by mixing water buffalo milk and rice vinegar. It is usually served pan fried, and often dipped in various spices, most commonly black pepper. Several local minority groups take credit for inventing the cheese, notably the Naxi, the Dai, and the Hui population. The cheese is similar to other unaged cheeses, and is nearly identical in taste and texture to paneer.
