Answers: That i can buy at my local grocery store.

The following fish taste good fried and they can be bought at at most local grocery stores:

Catfish
Cod
Haddock
Salmon steaks
Trout
Perch - both ocean and lake
Smelt
Flounder

Catfish!!! You can dredge in flour, put in an egg wash and cover with a cornmeal/breadcrumb mixture, then deep fry for a wonderfully crunchy, mild flavored fish! Serve with homemade fries or hushpuppies and its a nice alternative to traditional fish and chips.

Any white flaky fish, dover sole, tilipia, codfish, etc......

Smelts. Just fry them up and eat them with lemon, salt and pepper.

in addition to some of the other answers, one fish that i find especially tasty is salmon. if you get really good salmon (not farm raised) it makes a great difference. my mother will take it, but it in a baking pan, put some salt on top, and bake it till it is done. it should be moist and flaky. and even with just the salt, it's delicious! enjoy.
