Answers: whow good you are;

Boil the spaghetti in olive oil(two table spoons of oil) and water till it is almost soft, drain of the water, put it back on the burner but put the flame on very low. While the spag.... is hot, add a table spoon of magarine, another spoon of olive oil, a shake of onion powder, garlic powder and a slice of american cheeze. Mix the spaghetti till the cheeze melts and if you want ,add some powered italian seasoning.

Pasta and rice seem to be perennial problems for many cooks, even those who have been cooking for years. My grandmother taught me her secret, and I have been always successful with it. However----------
I taught it to my adult children, and they still often have problems. I have never watched what they do, but apparently, they do not follow the rules exactly, so I cannot guarantee my success will also be yours, unless you do this exactly as I describe.

To cook pasta or rice, fill your pan 3/4 full of COLD water. Bring it to a boil. Add 1/4 - 1 tsp. (any) vegetable oil.
Add the pasta/rice, stir well and wait until it begins to boil. As soon as it begins to boil, lower heat to "Simmer". Place lid loosely on pot so that steam can escape and water does not boil out. Walk away. Return in 5 minutes. Stir gently; if there is still water standing above pasta/rice, continue to simmer, covered, for 2 more minutes. This will produce a perfect product. But you can do more.
Do you like your rice/pasta sticky? I don't. So I pour COLD water on it, stir gently, and immediately drain off all water.
This stops the cooking, and rinses the starches which cause the stickiness. If you are making rice, and want to make gravy for it, do not discard the starchy water you drain. Use it to make gravy for your roux.

Any sauce you prepare for your pasta will make it warm enough to be pleasant to eat, but if you want to melt cheese over it, simply fill your plate, sprinkle on cheese, cover and microwave for about 15 seconds. YUM!

You're question is about spaghetti - pasta.

Best thing really is to read the directions on the package - I find most folk just never use a big enough pot and, therefore, there never is enough water in the pot to start with. There is a lot on controversy about whether to put oil in or not. Well, I follow the greatgrandmother who said just a little bit of oil in the pot to save the pasta from sticking but not so much that the sauce won't stick.

OK so now we have a large pot of boiling water about 4 litres of water add about 1+1/2 tablespoons of salt add maybe a teaspoon of olive oil, add a pound or let's say 900 grams of spaghetti to the boiling water & stir and bring back to the boil stir again and boil for 8 - 10 minutes (it you like it softer then leave it longer just keep testing it as you don't want mush). Drain & serve with your favourite sauce; tomato, ragu, meatball, cream, vegetable or bald with a little olive oil & parmesan cheese may sprinkle a few peppers on top.

Maybe the problem is that it so simple most folk just don't believe it.

My coworker taught us this recipe:

One spaghetti sauce packet, follow the directions on it.
Mix in whatever vegetables you like (I do onions, garlic).
Pour in one canned of Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup and one bottle of your favorite bottled red sauce. I use a chunky primavera. Simmer and then pour over your favorite pasta noodles. Add crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese.

SIMPLE BOIL WATER FIRST, ADD SALT WHEN BOILING THEN ADD PASTA,COOK AL DENTE 9 OR 8 MINUTES,,STRAIN AND ADD SAUCE SERVE,SIMPLE
