Raclette cheese, but cooked in a raclette oven.
I like a strong cheese, but that will be wrong for you. I would suggest a mild flavoured cheese spreads.
Our markets have small sampler cheeses, that are little more that a couple of nibbles.
Look for specialty cheese stores in your areas as they will often let you taste test some before you buy them, and if you tell them what you don't like about cheese in the past, they should be able to recommend something.

Hard to beat Jarlesberg, holes like swiss. Great cold from the fridge or melted. A good delicatessen will have the best range.
Try Spanish cheeses, they are excellent: manchego or idiazabal are mild.
I love Havarti and Gouda, Irish cheddar, or a sharp Vermont cheddar. Yum.
