What do anchovies taste like?!

Question: Why does everyone hate them?

Answers: Why does everyone hate them?

Anchovies taste fishy and extremely salty. Many people don't like them by themselves, but they can be used effectively to add flavor. For instance, Caesar salad often contains anchovy paste.

Why not try them for yourself and see what you think? :)

Salty fish.
I don't hate them they are good on pizza.

It just tastes like a realy salty fish:)
You could always try it and see if you like it:)

I love anchovies. They add a saltiness to dishes. Obviously they taste fishy too. Their flavor can be tempered by soaking them in milk.

i love em , i eat them right out of the jar , my local restaurant i order lunch from keeps xtra in just for me when i order lunch. theyre salty , and sometimes little bones get in your gums. great as a topping for cold + hot dishes alike , inside panzerotti + other stuffed creations

Dump a salt shaker, full of salt in your mouth & swallow!

Anchovies have a strong fishy and salty taste.

Why does everyone hate them? Because they're little girls.

Anchovies are a very strong flavored salty fish. And, I do mean salty.

I like them, but I sure wouldn't stuff a forkful in my mouth. Dh and I usually get anchovies on our pizza. I tell the waiter, easy on the anchovies. I sometimes use them as a seasoning when I make sour cream dips.

If you are curious about them, ask to taste an anchovy before you ruin a perfectly good pizza. There's no middle of the road with anchovies. It's a love them or hate them taste experience.

A box of salt.

Salty, and a little bitter. I think it's an acquired taste, my husband loves them.....me, not so much.

Salty, fishy - an acquired taste I guess. I like them in moderation. Too much is overpowering.

rotten salty fish.
If you never try it before, don't

really salty and fishy

Everyone doesn't hate them.and a lot of people have eaten them and never knew it The tiny ones are usually either bottled in oil or salted & sometimes have capers added. They are salty and usually and the salted ones are usually rinsed before using them in cooking. In cooking you only use maybe two or three & don't really taste of fish but they sure add a depth of flavour to the sauce. The also come as a paste in a tube if you only want to add a little bit if you don't use them often and don't want to open a jar or tin.

Anchovies aren't always too tiny. Some are larger and are either sauteed or grilled then you know you are eating fish. (like sardines or herring).

if you use the paste in very small amounts like in cesar salad dressing, it taste like salted nuts, so says Rachael Ray.

VERY SALTY AND FISHY.... VERY FOOD ON PIZZA!!!! I AM ITALIAN AND MY NANA MAKES A WHITE PIZZA, NO SAUCE JUST OLIVE OIL, PARSLEY, GARLIC, GRATED CHEESE AND ANCHOVIES..... THE ANCHOVIES DRY OUT IN THE OVEN AND GET KIND OF FLAKY... REALLY GOOD BUT IF YOU DONT LIKE SALT, YOU WOULDNT LIKE ANCHOVIES.
THEY TASTE DIFFERENT OUT OF THE CAN THAN THEY DO ON A PIZZA..... SO JUST TRY A SLICE OF WHITE PIZZA WITH ANCHOVIES...... IF YOU LIKE IT, THEN YOU PROBABLY WILL LIKE THEM NORMALLY BUT IF YOU TRY THEM OUT OF THE CAN, YOU MAY REALLY NOT LIKE THEM.
