Why does sushi make you so full off of a seemingly small amount?!

Question: It is the sticky rice they use to make it with. It is a heavier rice and therefore makes you feel so full after a small amount.

rice is a filler. Chunks of fish take a while to digest, so they fill you up too.

RiCe.. That's what fills you up.. HaHa..! Make sure you don't eat too much, because you could get gout from the seafood, or fat from the rice. Because rice turns into surgar!! lol ;]

Sushi is surprisingly filling.

I bet this is because the rice is very compact - as you chew that small block I bet its like a heaped teaspoon of uncompacted cooked short grain rice.

If you see chef's making sushi they compress the rice into the small wooden block (cant remember the name) before adding the natto (topping).

Thats what I would reason for it to be filling. Enjoy your sushi - dont forget the wasabi!

because of the rice.. if you notice when you cook rice it expands in water so the same happens in your stomach rice is hard for your stomach to digest.

Because it tastes like crap.

its because rice is very filling
