What kinds of fillings can i put in a California Roll?!

Question: Detials and pictures would be nice

Answers: Detials and pictures would be nice

I would never bite into a California Roll that does not have...

Pickled Daikon radish called TAKUAN .
The texture and flavor are CRUCIAL to any CA roll.
Available at any Asian Market in the refrigerated food section. They look like little bright yellow logs: http://www.tanpopo.co.uk/acatalog/Takuan...

Imitation Crab meat, or if real meat, even better! You probably know what I'm talking about but here's a pic just in case:

Available at any Asian market, near the seafood section.

EGG
Very, very important. Cook some beaten egg like an omelet and fold and slice across to get strips which you then bunch along the rice with the other stuff. Yummy!

Cucumber
Easy to cut, good texture

AVOCADO
Again, texture, richness

Those are my essentials. As for the optional ingredients:

Carrot
Deli slices? Bacon? Never tried, just throwing out ideas.

white rice, avocado, shrimp, crab, lobster, caviar (red or black) sesame seeds, celery, asparagus, seaweed, carrot, salmon, tuna, etc

you can really put anything you want

The California roll has cucumber, avocado, crab, rolled in white rice and nori. You can make any kind you want, there are many different rolls. Here are some choices:
carrot
cream cheese (phillidelphia roll)
avocado
fresh green bean
pickled daikon radish
shrimp
cucumber
tempura
salmon
tuna
eggplant
zuccini
etc...

You could do a western roll with bbq meat and onion rings with baked beans! jk

crab meat and avocado. no need for complicated addition to a quite delectable treat. http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbvi...
