Question: Does anyone know the difference between wonton and wor wonton soupl? My coworkers and I noticed that both were listed on a chinese take out menu we are ordering from. I always thought it was the same thing.

Wor wonton soup is a "deluxe" wonton soup meaning it has a lot of other ingredients added - bbq pork, chicken, shrimp, veggies and sometimes noodles too... etc.

A basic wonton soup is pretty much broth, wontons and maybe added slices of bbq pork.

Edit... I hear that Wor Wonton Soup is Edwin Starr, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker's Favorite soup. (lol... j/k)

Just a note that if you come down to Asia, please don't expect to find similar versions of such soups or other Americanised 'Chinese' food eg. chop-suey. Authentic wonton soup in Asia does not contain BBQ pork slices or loads of veggies. The soup base is a clear light soup with only perhaps some spring onions as a garnish which adds to the fragrance.

Won Ton soup is just the won ton in soup. Wor won ton is the won ton in soup with vegetables. won ton min is won ton in soup with noodles
