A friend of mine told me sausage dogs are made from pork. Is this true?!

Question: No your thinking of pigs :-)

Answers: No your thinking of pigs :-)

not all some are beef

i think your friend was telling a porkie

you'r not serious,are you?

yeah, and sheepdogs are made of lamb... muppet.

If they're made of sausage, then yes. Sausage is from a pig.

no there are not

You can pork a sausage dog! If you put duct tape around them they won't split.

I can't believe how many people think you're being serious!! One guy called you a muppet. Haha Who's the real muppet?

No. Sausages are made from dachshunds, silly!

Hard to tell with sausage. Could be anything.

and beef!!

I think he was definately winding you up.

Sausage dogs (daschunds) are just the same as any other dog. Pork only comes from pigs.

If you look on the ingredients it will say what they contain....

ha ha ha ha

No, nowadays they are mainly bread - unless they are butcher's sausage dogs.

DO you mean hot dog sausages? If you do, yes, they are usually made from pork with other ingredients, such as spices, rusk or breadcrumbs, preservatives (bought sausages).

Yes, yes it is

He / She is no friend
BUT
as you please..

Your friend was having a little laugh at your expense.

Sausage dogs are made from the same stuff that haggis' are made from. In fact they're related species.

The sausage dog (aka Dachshund) is a European variant of the wild Highland Haggis. They wail with a slightly Germanic accent whereas the haggis tends to whine a bit when squeezed. That's why their skins are so popular with bagpipe players.
The Sausage Dog is sometimes eviscerated and their skins are stuffed with "Berliners" and bloodworst to make a thing called a knockworst. This is eminently suitable for the concealment of stolen works of art.

Of course, some people still think that sausage dogs are made of dog. But that would be pedantic.
The sausages commonly installed in Hot Dog rolls are mainly pork with a large addition of powdered rubber and a tube of pure latex for the skin.

Hope this helps.
