Saag is a leafy green vegetable found in India, maybe the closest in this country is mustard greens. It's slightly bitter in taste. I have never seen real saag here in the US.

PALAK is just spinach. Most restaurants in the US use spinach for saag. Some may use a combination of mustard green and spinach.

So in this country, they are the same dish. But in India, they are two very different and distinct dishes.

thats from india hahahaha

there different kinds of plants and palak paneer has paneer in it

Blue Orchid is correct, I am from India --- sitting right here in Mumbai typing. I did not know saag was not available in the US.

Hi There,

They are the same thing.

Saag is a derivate of spinach - blanched, pureed, spiced and cooked spinash.

Palak (pronounced paaluk) is the hindi name for spinach.

The saag paneer and palak paneer are both made using saag.

hope this helps,

sid

Correction--Saag is available in the US...it's American name is Broccoli Rabe...look for it in the produce section. And Palak is just plain spinach.
