Banh Xeo

Nuoc Cham (Vietnamese Hot Sauce)

1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon lime peel, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed
2 teaspoons lime juice
2 tablespoons fish sauce
3 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons sugar

Vietnamese Condiments, etc.
Increase the amount of red pepper flakes to suit taste.
Combine garlic, lime peel, and red pepper flakes then add lime juice, fish sauce, water, and sugar.
Whisk until all ingredients are blended and sugar is dissolved.
Will keep short periods if refrigerated.

The secret is the fresh garlic cloves and fresh hot peppers.

I would suggest to make a very small amount.

Egg Fu Yung? I don't know but it might be sweet & sour sauce...

there's a lot of different sauces. each restaurant has their own kind. so its gonna be hard to tell you how to make it. if its something as simple as fish sauce, you can just go to an asian grocery store. they sell em there. but most restaurants will buy from the store and add a lil ingredient of their own to make the taste change a lil. unless you can ask the restaurant for their recipe and the name of the brands they use, it'll be pretty difficult to duplicate. good luck!

I've spent ages trying to replicate my favourite takeaway dishes at home. They always end up being OK but never the same. I've tried the curry sauces, the Kung Pao, everything. But theirs is always better!!!
