Does anyone have a dipping sauce recipe for Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls?!

Question: The Rolls are also known as Vietnamese Spring Rolls (and even Summer Rolls) in Australia. I have been looking for the rich brown sauce that is usually served with them. If not commercially available what are the ingredients?

You may like to try the Hoisin Dipping Sauce...

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon oil for stir-frying
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon chopped ginger
6 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon salt
a few drops sesame oil
1 1/2 teaspoons chile paste, or to taste
1 tablespoon chopped peanuts
Preparation:
Heat the oil in a wok over medium-high to high heat. Add the garlic and ginger. Stir-fry briefly until aromatic. Turn the heat down to medium and stir in the other ingredients. Heat through and remove from the stove. Cool.

Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

Good luck. There are lots of recipes from the site I list below and where this recipe came from.

use soy sauce mixed with vinger :D

do you have a dog?

You need a jar of hoisin sauce, some garlic-chili paste and some peanuts.

Take about a quarter-cup of hoisin, drop in a spoonful of the chili and sprinkle with peanuts.

Yummmmm! Now I'm hungry.. Maybe soy, ginger, viniger, and a pinch of suger... I think they put some diced garlic too.

Basic

Creamy peanut butter mixed with hoisin sauce topped with crushed peanut as garnish. Add fresh hot pepper to your taste.

Check your local grocery store

This is easy and quick plus it taste great (less filling?) Get a jar of apricot jelly, add some soy sauce and some hot garlic chile sauce. Mix together and taste, add more soy and chile if you like. Maybe some salt but do that last because soy sauce is salty. The sauce will be kinda sweet but spicy and the soy keeps it from being too sweet
