Chinese spring rolls taste ??!

Question: i had a chinese spring roll ,from a take away , it had like a perfume ish taste inside ?? other spring rolls i have had have it and some other's don't . what is it ?

you can get it some supermarkets or chinese/oriental grocery stores

Could be the fresh herbs they add. Some restos use cilantro, while the Vietnamese add basil or mint.

Some spring rolls have star anise (five spice) in them.
You can also get them with prawns in or best of all, crispy duck and a hoy sin dip. Gorgeous!
